  • Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 1763 Townline Road Washington Island, WI, 54246 USA (map)

Marlene Marie Mann, age 74, of Washington Island, walked into the loving arms of Jesus on March 18, 2026 with her daughter at her side. She is now free of cancer and pain.

Born on October 5, 1951, to the late George Edward Schlosser and Dorothy Jane Marie (Ellman) Schlosser of Lena, WI, Marlene grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and community. On October 26, 1973, she married the love of her life, Jerry Lyle Mann, and together they built a beautiful life on Washington Island. Side by side, they ran the family business, Mann's Grocery Store, where Marlene became known far and wide for her famous potato salad-lovingly prepared and always shared with a smile:)

Marlene had an extraordinary passion for cooking and baking, using her talents to bless countless friends, neighbors, and church members. She was an active and devoted member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Washington Island, where she faithfully served on the church council, cooked breakfast for the youth, carved turkeys for the Harvest Dinner, and worked tirelessly at the annual clothing drive. Her faith was the steady foundation of her life, and she lived it with grace, generosity, and unwavering devotion. Marlene also served on the Washington Island Town Mutual Insurance board for many years.

Some of Marlene's happiest moments were spent with the cherished "Sunday group," enjoying picnics at Meader’s Beach, sharing laughter, and gathering to cheer on the Green Bay Packers. She treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved.

Above all, Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart, always supporting them in everything they did and celebrating every step of their journey. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her children Jeffrey of Washington Island, Jonathan (Michelle) of Washington Island, Katie (Weston) Jagiello of Lena, and Brian (Kayla) of Washington Island; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; her siblings, James (Marcia) Schlosser of Lena and Janet (James) Peters of Green Bay; siblings-in-law, Bonnie (Charlie) Voight of Gills Rock, Keith Mann, and Orion (Jill) Mann, both of Washington Island; aunt, Marian "Dolly" Nerehausen and uncle, Donald Olson. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews; cousins; and special friends-especially, Melinda, Cathy, and Janet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Jerome and LeVaun (nee Jacobsen) Mann; and sister, Mary Schlosser.

Marlene's life will be honored with a memorial service held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Washington Island with Pastor Ed Baseman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Town of Washington Cemetery.
